Suffrage in Wisconsin 8 21 2026
Suffrage for the primaries occurred in Wisconsin. Francesca Hong, the democratic socialist, was not a winner. Instead, David Crowley will be the candidate taking on Tom Tiffany for governor of Wisconsin.
Tiffany looks like he is trying to suggest he is not beholden to out of state interests, when Richard (Dick) and Elizabeth (Liz) Uihlein, the billionaire co-founders of Uline, primarily reside on a large 22-acre estate in Lake Bluff, Illinois..
They together from out of state have given the maximum allowable individual direct contributions to Tom Tiffany’s campaign allowed. The Uihleins donated millions of dollars (including $4 million specifically reported during critical 2026 pre-primary fundraising windows) to the Republican Party of Wisconsin, which in turn transferred over $6 million directly to Tiffany’s gubernatorial campaign. Under Wisconsin law, political party committees can make unlimited transfers to candidates.The Uihleins also contributed massive sums—such as dual $500,000 donations—to auxiliary groups like the Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans, which subsequently channeled funds into Tiffany’s campaign.
Hong did not run television advertising in her campaign to lead the state as governor. She came very close to winning, but Tony Evers supported David Crowley, who ran TV ads, resulting in Hong’s loss .

When as we can see he is financially supported by Uihlein’s millions, and the same people he supposedly says he is having trouble with are living in suburban Illinois, “ where families are crushed by rising taxes and opportunities fade.” Tiffany tells us.
Perhaps taxes are higher in Illinois than Wisconsin, but that didn’t stop Tiffany from gladly taking the millions which he used for TV attack ads against Hong from Uihleins. They even spent millions on ads supposedly run by Hong, the likes of which she never did or supported.
It looked pretty ghetto. We’re not done with Tiffany yet though. The 11.5 million dollars given to Tiffany and the Wisconsin Republican Party also contained 2.5 million dollars from Diane Hendricks.

Granted she is from Wisconsin, her primary residence is listed here. I don’t know if it’s like the Uihleins, who own property in Wisconsin, as well as Florida, etc., but reside in Illinois But here is another billionaire supporting Tiffany, who uses the money to buy attack ads on cable television.
Yet Tiffany tells us he is not in favor of the elites and will “make government work for the people.”
Well, the rich people… He obviously doesn’t mind taking their money.
Perhaps we will get another Donald Trump out of Tiffany, a casino owner promising a fair shake for the proletariat, if you support capitalism. We have seen Trump’s bourgeoisie enriched by billions from Middle Eastern oil money, all channeled through crypto currency, a business of pure speculation. There isn’t even a commodity being speculated on, like a tool or something. It is wealth speculating on wealth, a gross display of capitalist power.
Given the choice David Crowley looks more honest. We know him here as the Milwaukee County Executive. He is not a billionaire, David Crowley’s campaign funds come heavily from labor unions—which account for nearly half of his contributions—alongside a mix of major individual donors from within Wisconsin and a strong base of grassroots small-dollar contributors.
He is less in the pocket of out of state capitalists. He also is urban, and could be able to run industry like the port if there was a crisis.
It’s too bad Hong lost, for governor I say David Crowley will do.
