Means of Production and Surplus Value. Subdivision of Surplus Value to Different Capitalists. 9 5 2026
“As the final sprint to the election begins, MAGA Inc. on Saturday filed an expenditure report with the Federal Election Commission for $5 million in TV and digital advertising to support Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the state’s Republican Senate nominee, and another $5 million to oppose his Democratic opponent, state Rep. James Talarico.”
“Two ads, which MAGA Inc. later shared online, slam Talarico for supporting tax increases and argue that Paxton would be better for affordability.”
““High Tax Talarico wants to take money out of Texans’ pockets,” Alex Pfeiffer, a spokesperson for MAGA Inc., said in a statement. “MAGA Inc. is going to ensure Texas knows about Talarico’s radical policies and elects Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate.””

What’s wrong with this picture? The tax money is surplus value, it comes from the unpaid section of the workday. It is a subdivision of it, the capitalist controls it and projects what to do with it.
If it wasn’t an involuntary contribution I don’t think you would be finding many workers who would choose to use their hard earned money to pay for attack ads in Texas.
So there is the surplus value talking to you; the capitalist voice, our human embodiment of the capital worker relationship. And as he spends the surplus he tells you the opposition party is going to get more surplus out of you!
Is this a contradiction? Are we really to believe the Republican bourgeoisie is going to lose control of the taxes? Given the control of the state it would be remarkable, but they would have the surplus value. The capitalist would still determine how much money was spent by virtue of having paid his money into the pot of money for taxes.
It would be like saying the tax money is surplus value, and we should control it. Clearly a strong ethical argument, but making it to your boss would probably get you on welfare with no job any longer.
Clearly once we view taxes as surplus value, the argument more is going to be subdivided off as taxes only works for the bourgeoisie. A worker would not spend money he earned on attack ads.
It’s like taxes paying for ads suggesting you should have trouble paying taxes. It neglects the fact it was basically the taxes that paid for the digital advertising.
The surplus value Trump is talking about as taxes is coming from the pockets of all workers. At best there is a cooperative or nationalized industry, but they are taxed too. The money is surplus value. And it comes from Texans too.
But it comes from capitalist ownership of the means of production, Texas is not special. They are not exempt from paying the surplus when they work for Mr Capitalist at work.
We are reminded taxes can be repressive, it is a dollar amount placed in print on the paycheck. Just because the bourgeoisie is paying it doesn’t diminish the fact it is surplus value. Clearly we have tax money, surplus value, paying for the more capitalist party to suggest they will be dividing less profit for taxes. It cost 10 million dollars.
I hope you like the attack ads propaganda because you are paying for it. And this is just the start of it. Trump will spend hundreds of millions of dollars of surplus value he has on television propaganda, not just in Texas but all over the country. Bare faced exploitation of the worker, whose unpaid labor is supporting his subordinate relationship with the owner of the means of production. Trump got that money from capitalists like Elon Musk, or Robert Uihlein, whose ownership of industry created the surplus value they are using.
